The Faculty of Chemical Engineering at UiTM Pulau Pinang was incepted in June 2005, two years after the full establishment of Faculty of Chemical Engineering at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam. The establishment of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at UiTM Pulau Pinang completes the long-term UiTM’s strategic planning to have the biggest engineering campus offering all engineering disciplines. Even though it only started as a department under the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering when the programme of Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Chemical was first introduced in June 2000, chemical engineering has long existed in UiTM since 1972 through the Industrial Chemistry Programme, which was offered under the Faculty of Applied Sciences. In the latest development, the faculty has changed its name to Pengajian Kejuruteraan Kimia (PKK) following the merger of all engineering faculties under College of Engineering.
